The HM Ostrava Story
The revived Hutní Montáže team was formed in 2021 around one of the players of the historic Hutní Montáže handball team from the 1980s. At that time, the TJ Hutní Montáže league team was coached by the later very successful coach Petr Koutný. Together with him, his former protégé Zdeněk Broukal, they put together the original team and organized a handball celebration in the form of a friendly match against the historical club Baník Šverma.
However, the initial casual meeting of former teammates soon developed into a professional direction. A year later, a big tournament was organized on the occasion of Petr Koutný's 70th birthday, this time with the participation of five teams. This event led to the restoration of the historical teams HM Ostrava MEN and HM Ostrava WOMEN.
