The revived Hutní Montáže team was formed in 2021 around one of the players of the historic Hutní Montáže handball team from the 1980s. At that time, the league team TJ Hutní montáje was coached by the later very successful coach Petr Koutný. Together with him, his former protégé Zdeněk Broukal, they put together the original team and organized a handball celebration in the form of a friendly match against the historical club Baník Šverma.

However, the initial casual meeting of former teammates soon developed into a professional direction. A year later, a big tournament was organized on the occasion of Petr Koutné's 70th birthday. --e-global-typography-text-weight ); This is where the HM Ostrava team (MEN, WOMEN)

The team started training regularly, at the beginning of 2023 already as a registered club Handball Club HM Ostrava with an effort to fully restore the club and the Hutní Montáže brand along with a modernized logo. At the same time, the team will represent the MEN 50+ and WOMEN 45+ categories at the MASTER HANDBALL WORLD CUP in Croatia in May 2023.

Coach Petr Koutný began his successful career in 1973 with the Sokol Poruba team. This team has changed several names over the years. In 1986, he also worked with the senior youth team of TJ Hutní montáže, who laid the foundation for today's HM Ostrava team.

Kuťas, as the coach was always nicknamed, did not only train men, but in 1999 he accepted the offer to lead our Czech junior women's national team as well. In 2002, the women of the Kunovic team and the junior Vítkovic team joined them. Later, he founded a section of handicapped handball players - wheelchair players of Ostrava.

He also organized handball camps, and in 2012 he also started playing floorball. He coached Vítkovic men in this sport in the Czech Republic, and then reached the peak of his career as a coach of the Slovak junior national team and also of men.
